Academics
Academic success creates opportunity. West LA PAL provides on-site tutors to assist students with schoolwork. In fact, we encourage students to come to class and participate even if they haven't finished their assignments. Schoolwork is West LA PAL work.

West LA PAL Scholarships
It takes more than hard work to succeed academically. These days, it takes money. Public grants, institution based tuition assistance and work study only go so far. West LA PAL has established the Jim Marcinkus Scholarship to help West LA PAL students pay for a college education. Professor Marcinkus (1948 - 2000) founded the Penmar Jujitsu Kai and was a great friend to West Los Angeles youth.
